PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) operates a coal mine in Sangatta East Kalimantan and is one of the largest export coal mines in the world. Opportunity exists for a seasoned, high caliber, professional to join the Company with job assignment in Sengata-East Kalimantan for the position of:

Mining Engineer (Code: ME) - Kalimantan Timur
Responsibilities
  • Check dump balances against pit schedules to determine the average overburden truck haul route in each scheduling period for pit & dump combinations in the short term plan
  • Check pit design for conformance to geotechnical standards and to ensure efficient resource utilization
  • Check dump design for conformance with KPC Rehabilitation Specifications
  • Account for the scheduling and correct burial of PAF material in the OB dumps
  • Determine coal haulage routes for pits assigned to the ROM hopper in each scheduling period in the short term plan
  • Calculate truck haulage cycle times for the overburden and coal routes identified in each scheduling period
  • Present the agreed designs and schedules to pit operations and technical staff
  • Perform a range of activities as projects in the field of mine planning and scheduling
  • Reconcile actual mining operations against plan each months and at the end of each quarter
  • Manage the use and housekeeping of all relevant files on the mine planning computer system
Requirements
  • Graduate engineer, preferably mining engineering.
  • 2 years practical mining - preferably open pit experience.
  • Good technical and operational knowledge of the ECS mine planning system.
  • Familiarity with the Company's safety and emergency policies/procedures.

Specialist Computer Operations - Kalimantan TimurResponsibilities
  • Design Cabling and network configuration specific to KPC requirement to maximize the performance of the data communication systems.
  • Set-up and test data communications and network devices based on the approved design to ensure the required objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor and maintenance the daily network performance to ensure the systems operate at acceptable service level to meet the needs of KPC operations.
  • Perform remedial and diagnostic maintenance by investigating operational problems to identify possible errors and failures in the systems and to apply appropriate troubleshooting methodology to fix the problems.
  • Analyse the current systems to identify and any areas of improvement to ensure the systems are in line with KPC Operational requirement and technology advancement.
  • Initiate actions to upgrade the current systems based on the detailed analysis for improving the performance of the systems.
  • Manage the operations of Local Area Network (inc. but not limited to switches ,bridges, wireless), and Wide Area Network (inc. but not limited to VPN/ remote access service, internet link, routers, proxy & web filter, firewall, security and Demarcation Zone).
  • Operates network monitoring, filtering and reporting tools (Cisco LMS, PRTG, Solarwinds Orion, Hostmonitor, Sniffer investigator, ect).
  • Liaise with relevant consultants, contractors, provider and vendors to keep update with the current technology and to outsource improvement and upgrading projects.
  • Maintain technical documentation of system design configurations and charge log-book.
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree / Post Graduate Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Have CISCO or other relevant certifications from recognized organizations. (Cisco CCNP or CCVP Preferred).
  • Preferably Senior Staffs specializing in IT/Computer - Network/System/Database Admin or equivalent.
  • Have 3 years experience and proven skills in administering and troubleshooting data communication system.
  • Having good analytical and problem solving skills.

Geologist - Exploration (Code: GEO-E) - Kalimantan Timur - Sangatta
Responsibilities:
  • Obtain data from logging cuttings and cores, progressively interprets geological information, and assists in planning further work or modification of the current drilling program.
  • Conduct field mapping, marks coal seam outcrops and other geological features and informs surveyor to pick them up.
  • Organize the collection of geotechnical and coal quality samples as requested by the particular department section.
  • Supervise other field operations-drill track clearing, pegging of drill-hole sites, geophysical logging.
  • Completes litho logical chip, core and reconciled log using geophysical logs to ensure that thickness of litho logical units is correct and accurately entered to the database.
  • Ensure that when reconciling the lighological logs that down-hole geophysics are extensively used to correlate all the coal seams within the borehole.
  • Liaise with Mine Geologist to coordinate drilling around active mine areas.
Requirements:
  • Graduate Geology (S1) from a recognized tertiary Institution with 2 years experience in geology exploration/mining.
  • Working knowledge of ECS Minex and Mapinfo Software.
  • Good understanding of the quality and properties of the coal.
  • Extensive software skills such as MS Project, MS Access and MS Excel.
  • Have driving license - SIM A and off road driving experience
  • Good Interpersonal and communications skills in booth Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Common sense basic bush/jungle survival skills
  • Ability to visualize the geological model in three dimensions (for Geologist - Evaluation).
